Hey guys, it's been a while. It awesome to meet several of my followers at Open House this past weekend (big shoutout to Grant C.!). Hope you guys made it back safe and got to experience a little bit of the App that I've come to know and love.
One of biggest things I love about ASU is it's students and their readiness to help out when they can. This past Friday night, ASU hosted a Relay For Life at Duck Pond Field. We were out there from 6PM to 6AM. I personally with several of my friends walked from 10-12. They had inflatables, music, they showed The Lion King, free Monster...aka it was awesome. It was great time to hang out with friends while doing something to benefit the community and the fight against cancer.
If philanthropy gets your gears turning, ASU has got to be on your list of colleges to attend. From cancer, to world hunger, to teen depression and suicide, to global awareness, App students are involved in at all.
Hope you guys have an awesome last couple of weeks in school. For you juniors, get out to some colleges and took a look around before all the students leave; nothings worse than going for a college visit while there's no one around. Seniors: be sure you're keeping up with your checklist on First Connections! Come up to ASU for a weekend visit if you know someone up here. Check you email several times a day. And get ready to have a blast when you get up here!

It's Hot!/No Shoes
Whew. It's hot here guys. HOT. Boone's broken a couple of records for high temperature the past week or so. Sunday, the high was 82. Holy cow guys. That just doesn't happen in Boone 98% of the time. It's April! If anything we could have snow (not that I'm encouraging it, but the saying here is "Snow 'til Mother's Day, so don't plant anything"), not 80+ degree weather! And we're loving it! Hanging out on the mall, playing outside, its GREAT. It's raining tonight and tomorrow, but it's clear skies after that! Already made plans to play Quidditch on Saturday (don't know about Collegiate Quidditch? Check out their website: www.collegequidditch.com).
Today is TOMS Shoes One Day Without Shoes Campaign 2010. Across the nation (maybe the world) people are voluntarily not wearing shoes to raise awareness of people in developing and 3rd world countries don't have shoes to wear and end up with very preventable diseases. One thing I do have to say about App students: we are a big fan of doing stuff like this. Not the "not wearing shoes" thing, but awareness campaigns for organizations like TOMS, Invisible Children, To Write Love On Her Arms.
